Working for girl's field lacrosse....

Hi Everybody,

Coach Bill writing to let you all know that despite my best efforts, we were just not able to enough registrations in girl's field lacrosse to put together any teams for this summer.

Though disappointing, this is not surprising for a centre with little or no historical precedence in this area of lacrosse. Comparatively, Burlington, a traditionally strong centre, was only able to field U19 and senior girls teams this year. This in no way means we won't be attempting to field some teams next year. I am determined to get this program going in Hamilton. I believe that once our Hamilton girls get a taste for the game of field lacrosse they will love it! It is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States from the grass roots all the way to college stardom under huge scholarship opportunities.

As such, I will be aggressively advertising the sport in the coming year, especially at girls hockey programs and the like. I will also continue to hold clinics, possibly in the outdoors this summer.  I encourage your girls to keep their sticks warm, engage in other sports be it box lacrosse or other, utilize information technology such as youtube to educate themselves, watch some games on t.v., go out and watch the McMaster girls team in the fall, watch our website for future clinics, and spread the word!
